We are delighted to announce that after months of hard work Casper Pathology has now gone live at three NHS Trusts across Tyne and Wear. Pathologists are using Casper Pathology to report on lung samples with colorectal, breast, urology and gynae amongst others, to be launched early in the new year.
Casper enables these pathologists to report on requests in real time using our sophisticated decision-making tools that ensure that only data-sets for these specific disease sites are seen. Casper continues to use advanced logic to make this possible.
QE has a new Pathology Centre which is a state-of-the-art facility which operates at the cutting edge of the delivery of pathology services in the UK. The Centre provides most of the pathology services for the NHS across Gateshead, Sunderland and South Tyneside but it is now expanding to offer testing in a range of medical and other sectors.
The unit also contains some globally recognised new technology that provides health professionals with all the medical testing needed to run a modern hospital and deliver fast, accurate results for patients, so we are very pleased to be working alongside this team.
Casper Pathology is an advanced cellular pathology reporting system which fits in as a modular component of a larger LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System). This is the only pathology platform to be fully COSD compliant; as such the Trust will not need to worry about being fined for not meeting the required targets.
We will soon be rolling this platform out to other pathology centres in the UK. If you are interested in learning more and funding out how your Trust could be fully COSD compliant, then please do contact Chris Kennelly to arrange a demo at email@example.com
Thank you to all the team at the QE who have been involved in this project, it is a great achievement.
